In Memoriam: Amy E. McCarty
It is with deep sadness that we announce that our partner, friend and colleague, Amy McCarty, passed away January 11, 2026. She died at home surrounded by her family.
Amy was an essential part of our firm for over 20 years. We all benefitted from her leadership, kindness, compassion and concern. Amy was committed to providing effective advocacy to her clients and shared her time and talents with numerous not-for-profits, including volunteering on and serving in leadership positions on multiple charity boards. Amy truly made a difference through her advocacy and philanthropic support.
Amy and her husband have two girls to whom she was a wonderful mother, and they were the light of her life. Above all, Amy was devoted to her family, extended family and friends. She was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Amy was an excellent lawyer. Judges and litigants respected her and knew when she was on the case that she would represent her clients with strong, thoughtful arguments. She taught at Loyola Law School and regularly shared her expertise by providing lectures to the Bar Associations and Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education.
You will always be missed, Amy. Rest in peace.
